Chopan or Ton is a quilted robe worn by Uzbek men. They range from simple designs showing regional affiliation with cotton cloth and filling to elaborate affairs made of silk or velvet with gold embroidery, a design common in Samarqand and Bukhara. They are worn during various ceremonies such as weddings, funerals and etc. They are also handed out as gifts and as signs of patronage.
